Qualifying Exams

The Institute believes it is important to ensure that people working in the commercial sector are suitably educated, trained and qualified in their chosen functional areas. As a result, the requirements for full membership of the Institute are that prospective members be able to demonstrate that they have appropriate subject knowledge, as well as relevant experience.

ICM is a global leader in the provision of recognised vocational Awards and offers in excess of 200 programmes in functional subject areas - with more than 100,000 candidates taking ICM examinations every year.

The Institute offers a range of qualifications which enable employees to qualify for Associate and Full Membership, and these are as follows:

ICM Advanced Diploma Awards leading to Associate Membership

The Institute offers a number of Advanced Diploma Awards covering Commercial Management, Business and Management Studies, Administration, Accounting and Finance, Communications, Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations, Legal Studies, International Trade and Purchasing. All Advanced Diplomas are HND level awards.

Holders of an ICM Advanced Diploma are also able to gain entry into the second year of a wide range of degree programmes in the UK.

Graduate Diploma Awards leading to Full Membership

Designed for those holding HND level qualifications, ICM Graduate Diploma Awards are offered in a number of functional areas. All Graduate Diploma Awards are post graduate/post experience programmes.

The final formal examinations are set at degree level. Full and part-time tuition leading to the examinations is provided by ICM Teaching Centres, Business Schools and Colleges in 120 countries.

Those with the ICM Graduate Diploma in Commercial Management Award can also be accepted onto the final year of the Commercial Management degree programmes.
